Scheduling reports

Scheduling reports

Set up a recurring cadence for a report type or custom template and manage an existing schedule.

A schedule ties a report type, or a specific custom report template, to a recurring cadence, so the same report lands on your desk automatically without you having to remember to regenerate it. Click Schedule next to a report group to create one.

The schedule form

Example of the schedule form, set to weekly

  • Frequency: Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
  • Day of week: only shown for a weekly schedule.
  • Day of month: only shown for a monthly schedule, from 1 to 28 (so every month has that day).
  • Time: hidden for an hourly schedule, since it just runs every hour.
  • Email me when a new report is generated: on by default.

Managing an existing schedule

Once a schedule exists, the report group shows a status badge (its frequency and next run date, or Paused if it's disabled) with a menu to:

  • Edit schedule: reopen the form above with the current values filled in.
  • Pause or Resume: temporarily stop a schedule from running without deleting it.
  • Delete schedule: remove it entirely. This cannot be undone.

Plan requirements

Scheduling needs an eligible plan. If your organisation doesn't qualify, the Schedule button is replaced with a Schedule this report button that takes you to the plan page, but a schedule created before a downgrade stays visible and can still be paused or deleted. Only creating a new schedule, or resuming a paused one, requires the plan.
