Activate, deactivate or delete a Labelizer project

Stop scheduled Labelizer runs, start them again or remove a project you no longer need.

Use the project controls when you want to stop scheduled Labelizer runs, start them again or remove a project you no longer need. These controls live on the project's Overview step, the last step in project settings.

Example of the Overview step activate/deactivate controls

Active
This labelizer is active and ready for live runs.

Deactivate a project

Deactivate a project when you want to keep the setup and run history, but stop future scheduled runs. Open the project's Overview step and click Deactivate labelizer.

This is useful when:

  • You are reviewing the setup.
  • You want to prevent temporary feed changes from affecting labels.
  • The account is paused or being restructured.
  • You need to check the selected custom label slot.

After deactivating, existing results remain available in the project.

Activate a project again

Open the Overview step and click Activate labelizer when you want scheduled runs to continue.

Before reactivating, check:

  • The Google Ads account is still correct.
  • The Google connection is active.
  • Merchant Center access is still valid if labels should sync.
  • The target, filters and schedule still make sense.

After reactivating, Labelizer will continue based on the project schedule.

Run manually after changes

If you changed settings before reactivating, run Labelizer manually once and review the results.

This helps confirm that the project still processes the expected products before relying on the schedule.

Duplicate a project

To start a new project from an existing setup, open the row's More actions menu on the Labelizer project list and choose Duplicate. On a phone, the same menu also has a Settings shortcut.

The copy is named "Copy of" plus the original name and opens in project settings. It keeps the original's settings, but not its run history. It starts deactivated, and it gets its own supplemental feed in Merchant Center the first time it syncs, so the two projects never overwrite each other's labels. Review the settings, then activate it from the Overview step.

Delete a project

Delete a project only when you no longer need the setup or run history. From the Labelizer project list, open the row's More actions menu and choose Delete.

Example of the delete labelizer confirmation

Delete labelizer

Are you sure you want to delete Acme Retail (US)? Its supplemental feed in Google Merchant Center will also be removed unless another Labelizer uses it. This cannot be undone.

Before deleting, check whether your team still needs:

  • The project configuration.
  • Historical run results.
  • The selected custom label values.
  • A record of how products were bucketed.

Deleting a project also removes its supplemental feed from Google Merchant Center unless another Labelizer uses it. The Google Ads account and Merchant Center account remain. This cannot be undone.

If you are unsure

Deactivate the project first. Deactivating gives you time to review the setup without creating new scheduled output.
