# Run status and changes

> Read a run's status, see the changes an automation made, and apply the ones that did not go through.

An automation that changes your account applies its changes as part of the run. It works out what
to change, checks each change against the live account, sends the ones Google Ads will accept, and
records all of it on the run. You can read exactly what happened afterwards.

## Run status

Each automation on the Automations page has a status button near **Run now**,
labelled with its latest run status. Select it to open the status dialog for that automation. The
button shows one of these statuses:

- **No runs** means the automation has not run yet on this account.
- **Running** is queued or in progress. The dialog updates itself while a run is active.
- **Finished** completed successfully.
- **Warnings** finished and found something that needs your attention, such as broken links.
- **Error** stopped on an error. The dialog shows what went wrong.

The dialog shows the run steps of the latest run, the same way the Labelizer status dialog does: when
it was queued, how the automation run itself went and any message about it. If an attempt fails,
the run stays **Running** while Flowboost tries again automatically. Below the steps, depending on
the automation, you see a report, a list of findings or, for the automations that change things, the
changes it made.

## Changes

A run that changes your account lists those changes in a table. For a budget change you see the
campaign, its previous daily budget, the new one, the size of the change and why the automation
made it. For keywords you see the ad group and the search terms it added.

Some rows can be marked as rejected, with a reason. Those are changes the automation wanted to make
but Google Ads will not accept, so they are shown for transparency and skipped.

A run that found nothing simply says so. That is a normal result, not a failure. It means nothing in
the account met the thresholds you set.

## When a change does not go through

Google Ads can refuse part of a run, or the account can have moved on between the check and the
write. Three outcomes are possible:

1. **All applied.** The run shows **Changes applied**.
2. **Some applied.** Google confirmed part of the set and not the rest. The run tells you how many
are confirmed. The unconfirmed ones may still have gone through, so check the campaigns named
before you change them by hand.
3. **Nothing applied.** The run explains why, and offers **Apply these changes** to try again.

A set of changes can only be applied once. If an apply is wholly refused, it is closed and the
button does not come back. The next run works out fresh changes from current data, which is the
safer behaviour: budgets and search terms move, and re-sending old changes could act on numbers
that are no longer true.

You need an active Flowboost subscription for an automation to change your account. The Google Ads account and its
connection also have to be active, since a disconnected or deactivated account must not be written
to.

## Before you activate

Because every run changes the account, tune the settings before you activate a changing automation.
Each automation's page suggests where to start. A run by hand applies its changes too, so it is not
a dry run.

## When nothing happens

If an automation is active but you see no runs, check in order:

- **Is a schedule set?** An active automation with no schedule never runs.
- **Is the account still connected and active?** A revoked or deactivated Google Ads account stops
  runs.
- **Does the organisation still have an active Flowboost subscription?** Scheduled runs stop without
  one.

The run status dialog is the fastest way to tell the difference between an automation that is not
running and one that runs but finds nothing.
